Are you looking for a couple of hours of fun?
To get messy and play with yummy art supplies?
Be part of a community that encourages and inspires one another?

Look no further! Create + Play is not your typical step-by-step Zoom class, but more of an experience.

If you like my Facebook or Instagram Lives, you will love these sessions as they are much more interactive. Each session is on Zoom and recorded (whether you turn on your camera or not!)

Join me for the replay of the Live Zoom class , and watch me paint a whimsical floral pattern using acrylic paints and paint pens. I'll be painting one plate and one dish in the Live class, and trust me when I tell you that these are addicting and you'll send up making many! And not to worry if you don’t have pens, you can use a small brush to create the same details (I am just obsessed with paint pens).

The first part of the class is a prep video on working with clay. Take your time as making anything with your hands is creative therapy. There is something special about the feel of clay – reminds me of being a kid again. The type of clay I am using does not need to fired or baked! Just let it air dry for 1-2 days. Once your pieces are dry, then give them one coat of white acrylic paint – gesso is fine too.

Class Art Supply List

All my lessons can easily be done in any color palette or with any brand! Also, some supplies are more expensive than others - there are different brands and many substitutes for the same thing. You can do any of my classes with basic painting supplies or watch the videos and then see what you want to purchase!

DAS White Air Dry Clay

Acrylic Paint
I will mostly use Nova Color Paint (my favorite), but Liquitex Soft Body is a great alternative. I love the consistency of soft body paint like these brands. If you are new to painting, there are many great options in student-grade acrylic paints, like Amsterdam Standard Series or Liquitex Basics.

Nova Paints I am using in class:
103 Carbazole Dioxazine Violet
190 Fluorescent Magenta
142 Blue Green
187 Pyrrole Red
146 Cadmium Orange Deep (I only use a little bit)

Yummy Gold Paint I am using for edging
***Deco Art Dazzling Metallics Glorious Gold

High Flow Acrylics
Golden High Flow White Titanium

White Titanium Paint for Base Coat
Amsterdam White

Liquitex Soft Body Paints
Brilliant Blue
Vivid Lime Green

Brushes
Any brand will do, just try and have a few small round and a variety of angle shader options.
2 round
4 round
6 round

Set of 3 Angle Shader Brushes

Paint pens:
I love Posca Pen Markers Sets!  No need for all these - I am listing 5 different sets as there are different widths. You can make all the markings in a small round brush as well.

Posca 3 Set Gold (1m, 3m, 5m) or Silver Molotow Chrome Liquid Silver Pen 2m
Primary Colors 1m
Primary Colors 3m
