Inspired by the Beauty + Colors of Italy
I am SO excited about my latest class, Bella Flora, the Goddess of Flowers - inspired by the beauty of Italy. Seriously, I am in love with her. Not sure if she will ever be sold, but I'm happy to say in this online art class, you'll be able to paint your own!
This class flowed out of me since I returned from my recent trip to Italy. I can't remember the last time a painting came out so easily, I was definitely in the flow state. Everything was clicking. The color palette is divine; greens, purples, and blues - what I saw when visiting Lake Como and Milan in the late spring.
Bella Floral sings of color, beauty, flowers,
goddesses, inspiration, and possibilities!

Gorgeous Layers + Mark-Making
Building up our painting
My favorite way to paint is by layering. We are adding in all types of mark-making and colors along the way. We will start with words, layer on acrylic inks, do some color blocking with acrylic paints and play with stencils, create our goddess and flowers, and finally, use paint pens for all the beautiful details.
One of my favorite art tools!
A perfect way to add interesting marks to your painting! I'll be working with some handmade and natural stencils plus a few of my favorites from StencilGirl Products. I love this way of mark-making. It's a great way to add another layer of excitement to your piece.
Drawing faces, let alone painting faces, can be challenging, but it doesn't have to be.
I know that my style is more whimsical than precise so that gives me some leeway to have a face and body that is not "perfect" - just the way I like it. There is a PDF pattern for her face and body if you want to use it, plus a little lesson on portraits and face proportions as well.
