Wow! Wow! Wow! What a fantastic weekend. My first Open Studios is in the books! I have done a lot of journaling so that I don’t forget any of it. I had no idea what to expect and if anyone would even show up! I think I was working about 15 hour days all week prepping to make sure everything was ready go - and by 11am on Saturday I was ready.
Open Studios in Santa Cruz has over 300 artists that open up their art studio over 3 weekends in October. You can drive around the county with a guided catalog and find some amazing artists and really cool studios too.
I loved sharing my acrylic paintings, mermaid collages, art journals, and especially enjoyed taking everyone through the progression of one of my newest paintings “Wings of Love” so they could understand the process. I printed out 9 photos so I able to visually explain each layer.
Old friends, new friends, and IG+FB friends came to visit - checked out my art studio and filled me a tremendous amount of love that I will carry with me until my next big journey.
